Thomaston Grammar students recognized with Cooperation Awards
Students at Thomaston Grammar School have been focusing on cooperation during the month of March. Several students at TGS were recognized for being cooperative at a school-wide assembly on April 8. The students receiving this award are known to cooperate and be team players.
Among the Cooperation Award winners were Myla-Rose York, Noah Gagnon, Hadlee Ahearn, Everleigh Sutter, Everlee Baughman, Vivien Hedstrom, Hailey Ames, Erik King, Josselyn Brown, Alex Stinson, Jane Smith, Andrew Smith, Skylar Haynes, Hailey Baughman, David Grierson, Ethan Black, Calvin Chamberlain, Avery Moore, and Ella Curry.
Throughout the month, students were awarded daily tickets for being cooperative. These tickets were put into a raffle, and six lucky winners were drawn at the assembly. Winners received their choice of a gift card donated by local businesses or having lunch or playing a game with Mrs. Riley. The winners this month were Derrick Corson, Elodie Fourneir, Alyce Hare, Aubrey Thurston, Ellia Tucker, and Ella Curry.
Hailey Baughman was also presented with this month’s Principal’s Award. Hailey is a marvelous member of the Thomaston Grammar School community. She is kind and respectful to everyone in the Thomaston Grammar School community, including both her peers and members of the staff. She stands out as a student who works hard to ensure that she is being safe, being kind, and being her best self always. She is a wonderful team player and is patient and kind when working with others.
Multiple 5th grade students were also recognized for their plastics pollution presentation to the RSU 13 School Board on April 1. These students included Alyvia Baughman, Derrick Corson, Juliette Johnson, Charlotte Ahearn, and Ethan Black.
Four 5th grade students were also presented certificates for their outstanding contributions to the Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water poster contest. Joy Chen and Norah Smith received first place awards for their classroom and Aubree Joynt and Pam Smith received runner-up awards.
The assembly concluded with students taking part in a fun and festive Easter Egg Surprise game. Divided into four teams, students worked together to collect eggs and then opened them to search for a hidden golden ticket. The team that found the winning ticket earned a special prize—music during all lunches next Friday before break. It was a great way to celebrate teamwork, excitement, and school spirit!
5th grade students Corban Jackomino and Anastasia Magnoli emceed the assembly.
Next month, students at TGS will be focusing on courage.
Congratulations to all the students who received awards at TGS this month!
